帯状疱疹　or herpes zoster

I went to see a dermatlogist yesterday and was diagnosed as herpes zoster, which we might have remembered that the Princess Masako got it a couple years ago when she was under a huge pressure for having a child. It is not contagious - I didn't get it from touching something or someone, and I won't be passing it to anyone coming into a close contact with me. Remember that you got the chicken pox when you were little? It's the same virus that's causing this disease. We thought we killed the virust back then, but it didn't die. It was "hiding and resting" inside of our body for many many years, waiting for a perfect monent for an attack. For more about this disease, please see the link: herpes zoster

The cause of this disease for me, I don't know. My dermatlogist said it could be a physical tiredness or mental stress, and that made my immune system weakened. Right now I am on a strong drug (4 different kinds of pills three times a day) to kill the virus for good and to help my weakened immune system coming back up. My dermatlogist said I should give my exhausted body a rest, but I can't afford that as I am well aware of the office's short-staffed situation, so I will cut down my work hours a bit for the next few days. I'll leave the office a bit early today and tomorrow, rest fully on a weekend, and see how much I get better on Monday.

今回の原因については、分かりません、皮膚科医は、過労、心労、加齢などによる免疫力の低下を理由にあげていましたが。今は、ウイルスを殺すため、そして私の弱められた免疫力がもとの状態に戻るのを助けるため、強いドラッグ(実際に1日に3回、4種の錠剤)を服用しています。 私の医師は、疲れきった体に休息を与えるべきであると言いましたが、人手不足の職場の現状を考えると、それは難しいことだと思います。　ですので、これからの数日間、労働時間をほんの少し削ってみようと思っています。そして週末には完全休養して、月曜日にどれほど回復するかを見たいと思います。

ＳＡＴＣのエピソードの中で、エイダンがプロポーズすると知ったキャリーの胴体にも、腹巻のように湿疹ができていたのを思い出します。　あれは帯状疱疹ではなかったのかしら？　

あぁ、それにしても、病気の時に、誰もいたわってくれる人がいないっていうのが、独身のダウンサイドだね。　ふぅ～。
